Interactive fiction

Filed under: writing, the future, A thought, Interactive fiction — Brendan @ 3:13 pm

I keep forgetting about and coming back to interactive fiction. Well, I never really forget about it, since it’s how I learned to read, and when i was smaller I wrote thousands and thousands of words for various AGT games. Hell, when I’ve got a little bit of free time I might write some now. We’ll see about that.

Anyway, the main point of all of this, I’ve been playing this, and it’s the bee’s knees. I owe Shamus for the link, I suppose.

  1. I got to the climax with the stone hail, but couldn’t figure out what to do next.

  2. I found another way to play, where the climax just blows over and I ride off into the night, safe and sound.

  3. I just posted the link. I haven’t had the time to get very far into it. However, given that it’s supposed to be Lovecraft-esque, I’d write at least one way where it doesn’t end, and it goes on forever until you gouge your eyes out.

I’m a dick that way, though.

  4. Also, you should ask your mom about climaxes; I taught her everything she knows (she now knows a lot).
