I did it last year, I’m doing it this year. It’s the webcomics I’m into! You see, after driving back and forth across the continent a few times, I’m taking a little time to wind down. Luckily there are webcomics to read while I’m not getting any work done.
A ground rule I’m setting myself here is that I’m going to stick to newer or less known stuff. You’re already reading Achewood, you don’t need me to tell you about how great it is.
Lizzy: Straddles the line between comic and flash cartoon. If nothing else, it’s important that someone is trying to do something new with new media. That’s how cool shit gets built, kids. On top of that, you won’t regret the time spent reading the actual comic either.
Dresden Codak: Now with a story line! Seriously, it’s the shit.
A Softer World: Joey’s off kilter and sort of unhealthy relationship with the world is one of the only things that makes me smile consistently.
Octopus Pie: An aquaintance of Jeffrey Rowland’s, I gather. It’s impossible to not like this comic.
Kate Beaton: History, family, uniquely Canadian pop culture, childhood, Kierkegaard. Kate makes fun of all of those things.
Gunnerkrigg Court: A long format narrative, it’s like Harry potter that doesn’t make me want to claw my eyes out. There’s no terrible slash fic to go with it, as far as I know. If you find some do not tell me under any circumstances. It will only cause me rages. That said, It’s really good, and there’s lots to read there.
Seamonster: I’ve known about this, and the rest of Nathan Castle’s work for a long time and, I still don’t know what to say. That’s probably why it’s never gotten a link.
Three Panel Soul: It’s Matt and Ian, the Machall guys. Of course, if that means anything to you, you’re already familiar with tps.
Girls With Slingshots: I just discovered Danielle’s work a few months ago. I regret that deeply.
Alright. I’m tired already, but this has only been like half of the stuff I meant to get to, which doesn’t even include that stuff I was going to gloss over because I assume you already know about it. Expect phase two in a couple of days.

Thanks for the mention!

Well, I keep going back to read it. That’s the important part, right?
